Join us for a guided nature and forest therapy walk through the intimate, beautifully tended gardens of a private residence in Excelsior, Minnesota. Located just four miles north of the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, and less than a mile (as the crow flies) from Lake Minnetonka, “Mink Pond” is nestled at the edge of an expansive marsh and features native and pollinator-friendly habitat, edible plantings, and a swimming pond. During the walk, participants will be guided through a Shinrin-Yoku (“forest bathing”) practice by Leigha Horton, Certified Guide and Practicum Mentor with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs.
Please note:
*The homeowners have a giant, kind-hearted dog who will be joining us in the gardens for the duration of the walk.
*We recommend participants arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of our walk and plan to stay through the scheduled duration. Due to the guided nature of Shinrin Yoku, we are unable to accommodate late admittance.
*The home will be open and available for walk participants to refill their water and use the restroom.
*The walk will continue rain or shine, except in cases of severe weather.
*Ample free, on-street parking available.
*We are sorry, but Mink Pond is not presently accessible to people using wheelchairs.
*Detailed information about the walk, the home’s address, what to bring, and on-site amenities will be provided in a registration confirmation letter.
