Join us for an after-hours guided nature and forest therapy walk through the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Located about four miles west of Chanhassen, the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is more than 1,200 acres of gardens and tree collections, prairie and woods and miles of trails. An area long-inhabited and tended by the Dakota people before colonization, this land and water is presently managed and tended by the University of Minnesota Horticultural Research Center, with the Men’s Garden Club of Minneapolis, Lake Minnetonka Garden Club, Minnesota State Horticultural Society and other community supporters creating the Arboretum as a gift to the University of Minnesota. During the walk, participants will be guided through a Shinrin-Yoku (“forest bathing”) practice by Leigha Horton, Certified Guide and Practicum Mentor with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs.
Please note: *All registrations for this event will take place through the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum’s website (registration link above). Sorry, Silvae Spiritus-issued discounts cannot be used for this walk. *Be sure to review Minnesota Landscape Arboretum’s Visitor Guidelines before arrival. *We recommend participants arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of our walk and plan to stay through the scheduled duration. Due to the guided nature of Shinrin Yoku, we are unable to accommodate latecomers. *The nearest restrooms to our walk are located at our trailhead. *The walk will continue rain or shine, except in cases of severe weather. *Free, accessible parking is available on-site.
Full details, including specific meeting location, what to bring, and on-site amenities will be provided in a registration confirmation letter.
