Join us for a guided nature and forest therapy walk through William O’Brien State Park. Located north of Stillwater in Marine on St. Croix, William O’Brien State Park is a 1,520-acre state park featuring rolling glacial moraine, St. Croix River shoreline, restored oak savanna, wooded areas, and bogs. An area long-inhabited and tended by the Dakota and Ojibwe peoples, this land and water is presently managed and tended by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. During the walk, participants will be guided through a Shinrin-Yoku (“forest bathing”) practice by Leigha Horton, Certified Guide and Practicum Mentor with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs.
*We recommend participants arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of our walk and plan to stay through the scheduled duration. Due to the guided nature of Shinrin Yoku, we are unable to accommodate late admittance.
*Minnesota State Parks permit required for park entry ($35 annual, or $7 one-day).
*There are public restrooms on-site, next to the Riverway Campground parking lot.
*The walk will continue rain or shine, except in cases of severe weather.
*Ample parking near trailhead.
*Detailed information about the walk, what to bring, and on-site amenities will be provided in a registration confirmation letter.
